學生所生活的三義社區有很多寶貴的文化資源，引導學生主動探索自己在生活中所接觸到的人事物，包含三義木雕的發展歷史與脈絡，利用網路搜尋或者親自到圖書館蒐集紙本資料，讓學生自行利用各種可行方式去蒐集、整理、歸納，並把結果用學習拍2.0平台分享給同儕，讓三義木雕發展的歷史脈絡更深入學生心中，讓學生靠自我探索達到認識家鄉的目的。 三義木雕藝術是本社區的特色文化，社區內有有全臺唯一一座木雕博物館，館內館藏豐富，常設展有三義木雕源流專題展，講述著三義木雕的發展脈絡，是讓學生直接學習與探索的最佳媒介。館中還收藏三義木雕發展各時期的木雕作品，學生可經由直接面對藝術作品，並藉由平板紀錄所見所聞，獲取直接經驗，再利用學習拍2.0平台分享學習所得。近年，館方還常舉辦國際間的木雕聯展，也可拓展學生的國際視野，更可增加學童對社區土地文化的認同。
