靜電是什麼？靜電指的是電荷在物體表面不平衡分佈所引起的現象，當兩個物體互相摩擦時，電子會從一個物體轉移到另一個物體上，這種因為電子轉移而產生的電荷現象，就稱為靜電。靜電不會像電流一樣流動，它是暫時停留在物體表面的電荷，直到遇到導體或接地後才會釋放。以日常生活中的例子來說，當我們用塑膠梳子梳頭髮時，會發現頭髮變得容易吸在臉上，這是因為梳頭的過程中，電子從頭髮轉移到梳子上，使頭髮和梳子帶靜電，與臉產生吸附現象。

電解和陰離子、陽離子與陰極、陽極是什麼？電解是指化合物加到水中之後，電經過化合物水溶液之後，會把化合物分解的過程。陰、陽極是指電極的性質不同，法拉第認為電進入水中的電極稱為陽極，而電離開水的電極稱為陰極。陰、陽離子是指當可以被電解的化合物，在水中會變成帶電的離子狀態。而根據它們所帶的電和性質不同，分成會被陽極吸引的陰離子 ( 帶負電 )，以及被陰極吸引的陽離子 ( 帶正電 ) 兩種離子。
