A plastic bottle tossed into the ocean begins an unexpected adventure. Floating through blue waters and colorful coral reefs, it sees turtles trapped in nets and jellyfish tangled in plastic bags before finally washing ashore to meet its "companions."

Herman follows the sound of the ocean to find his father in the central seas. He meets the ancient sea beast Leviathan, whose blood turns to gold and silver. Herman's hometown grows wealthy, but the ocean slowly suffers from pollution and human activity.

Xiao Le's grandfather takes him to Mr. Zeng's clam farm. The clams live in clean water, but illegal industrial waste soon poisons the sea, causing many deaths. Mr. Zeng brings the farm back to life through symbiotic aquaculture. The story even inspires the community's annual mural project.
