由於彭久芳和黃于庭在黃群英老師的弟子李紹陽老師那兒學習作文，李老師計劃為他的作文班發行刊物，原先要以黃群英老師為題材，為桃園首屈一指的書法家做專題採訪報導，但因為SARS的關係，而改做SARS報導。偶然的因緣際會之下，我們「桃小群英會」便從李老師那兒得知了桃園縣虎頭山附近住著一位在2000年曾榮獲全球薪傳獎的書法大師--黃群英老師，那時大家便對80幾歲黃爺爺產生極大的興趣，想要一探傳說中不曾用過健保卡的黃爺爺，到底黃爺爺有什麼魔力，可以只寫書法就那麼地健康呢？到底黃爺爺對桃園地方上有多大的貢獻呢？這些都是我們急於知道的答案，於是開始我們一連串雖艱辛卻也充實的訪問之旅。
