本影片主題為St. Valentine's Story，讓學生了解情人節的由來及慶祝的方式，例如人們會在2月14日這一天送花(flower)或是禮物給自己的伴侶(gifts)。最後，透過練習題檢視學生對故事內容的理解程度。故事中敘述在1700年前有位名為Valentine的牧師(priest)，他喜歡看到人們結婚、組成家庭等幸福美滿的模樣，然而當時的皇帝(Emperor)- Claudius 不希望男人結婚，因為他需要更多士兵(soldiers)為他打仗。即便如此，Valentine仍偷偷協助人們結婚。直到某天被國王發現後，Valentine因此在監獄裡度過了20年。20年後的2月14日這天，皇帝將Valentine放了出來，人們為了感念Valentine為情侶們所做的事情，便將這天訂為情人節。

透過電影欣賞、繪本導讀、資料蒐集，以及校外教學活動能夠串起學生與家人，學生與家鄉之間的各種連結，增進認知，了解異同，並進而懂得體諒和欣賞。

本影片所學為機艙內起飛前與降落前的廣播內容(Pre-Flight & Pre-Landing Announcements)，帶領學生從廣播中認識常見的關鍵字以及能夠理解當中的內容。影片一開始介紹飛機上的廣播內容與安全(safety)以及飛行的資訊(flight details)有關，以及常見的關鍵詞例如on board, take off, descend, land。影片中藉由不同的廣播內容，讓學生試著判斷試著片段為起飛前或是降落前的內容。以及補充一個字的詞takeoff為名詞，take off則為動詞。在起飛前也有應遵守事項的廣播，例如繫緊安全帶(fasten your seatbelts)、將隨身行李固定(secure baggage)在座位下方或是頭頂的行李架中，並且保持座椅和桌板直立(upright position)。以及將所有電子設備關機(Please turn off all electronic devices)與禁止吸菸(Smoking is prohibited.)。影片最後，透過練習題協助學生複習所學內容。

本教案使用翰林版五下國語第一單元第一課「鵝鑾鼻詩」為主要教材導入教學，將學生分組後，各組討論選定家鄉特色的景物，蒐集該景物之歷史與地理資料，配合本課改寫成新詩，於課堂上與同學分享，讓全班同學能瞭解所處家鄉之風情。
