水墨畫是東方藝術的精華，是我國數千年來最重要的藝術文化特色，尤其以運用文房四寶「筆墨紙硯」的創作媒材與工具，更可具體的表達我國傳統的藝術色彩。本館這次打造一個兒童版的「水墨桃花源」學習區，透過以「欣賞為主」的教學方式，讓兒童在展品與遊戲互動中學習，激發兒童對水墨藝術的認識及興趣，讓兒童親近自己的文化精華，從藝術遊戲中讓兒童吸收到有趣的水墨創作方法，體驗藝術創作的過程與作品結構，進而體會東方藝術的美學，增進美術教育的功能。本展是一項為五至十二歲兒童所策劃的展覽，創造「由做中學」的藝術教育環境，營造優質的水墨創作境域，展場分為三區：「水墨意境區」、「墨彩設色區」、以及「線條造型區」，藉由「親身體驗」，以實際「動手學習」的機會，提供一項豐富有趣且「寓教於樂」的教育展覽，也是一項學習水墨藝術創作與欣賞入門的絕佳教育機會。本展要特別感謝于彭、李茂成、許雨仁、黃才松、黃致陽等五位藝術家，熱誠允諾擔任規劃委員，張金蓮老師擔任導覽教學企劃及設計，本著一股多年來關心水墨教育的心情，投入參與，共同為本展發掘教育題裁與注入新的水墨畫教育觀念。
