There are a lot of silly old people in my 15 story, 250+ unit apartment building. They burn toast & instead of opening a window... they open the door from their apartment into the hallway. This sets off the fire alarm for the whole building & the Fire Department has to come. Two years ago, when I first moved here, I used to go outside. Now I just ignore it. The whole place is concrete & pretty fireproof.
