As a start of the International Day against Racism on March 21st 2016 people make a CARPET FOR PEACE AND EQUIVALENT with anyone who comes along. People make a multicolored carpet as a reflection of contemporary society. People are creating the carpet, like a mosaic made up of residuals. Syrian refugees living here participate.PEAL and TIME OF ATTENTION At 2pm there is a "moment of attention" required by chiming. Everyone is asked to stop shopping, walking or work, with eyes and arms wide open or closed in inner attention, or a ZEN moment to focus on each other. I stand between the sheep along the river Maas. It's morning and it is quiet in the village behind me. A restaurant is supplied. Sometimes you hear people talking. Listen well.In thirty five minutes, only a few large cargo boats along. The second with modern high speed diesel engine (sorry a bit overloaded sound). And an Apache helicopter. Furthermore, it is very quiet. Birds are quiet in the summer because they are molding and do not want to be heard by predators. 11 am at night. I'm on a stretch dam to lake "Lithse Ham". A cricket sings in the grass. Across the lake, at about 500 meters, is a campsite where adults and children laugh, call and talk. Only the beat of the music is audible. In front of me at 50 meters there are Polish sport fishermen who hear but do not see me. Sometimes you hear them talking.
