太平宮是新店古老的廟宇，也是台灣百來座奉祀開漳聖王的廟宇中，頗具規模和代表性的一座，至今已有二百多年歷史。是安坑地區人民的宗教信仰中心之ㄧ。太平宮不但提供安坑地區各級學校獎助學金，每年元宵節花燈比賽和展覽更是地方盛事。因此本主題藉由參觀太平宮的建築了解台灣寺廟的建築格局與裝飾風格知道廟宇建築於雕琢彩塑上如石獅、龍柱、木雕、彩繪、剪黏、與交趾陶等都為其藝術精華，並配合深入了解交趾陶與剪黏的製作與自己動手做的樂趣讓學生對傳統寺廟藝術的濃厚興趣。

藉由簡報介紹如何自行動手製作一本屬於自己的精裝書。
