Series of recordings I made in the mountains in the Chiang Mai region, Thailand, near the border with Myanmar. All recordings were made around midnight in a small valley I can’t find back on the map. One side of the hill had a small tea plantation, the other hillsides were covered with impenetrable vegetation. You can hear all kinds of night-time animals such as owls, insects and loud frogs. The temperature was very agreeable at night. I listen to the recordings to relax or to cast my mind back to the mythical tropical rainforest. Audio from the Artist Paintpots in Yellowstone. The hiss in the background is the constant float of steam from the ground along with the regular release of pockets of air from these odd little spitting mud holes. Pretty cool to see and producing a very unique sound. Not sure if it'll be useful for anything, but it was too cool to pass up. Again, sorry for the short duration; there was a lot of traffic and wind there. Recorded on a DSLR and edited in Audacity.
