I'm uploading this more of an example of how decent the sound is from the Etekcity VR-BK8. I decided that as I'm not into field recording and I didn't want, or need, some big clunky, bulky device that I'm occasionally going to use, so I decided on this.
Records at 48000Hz, 16 bit stereo. It seems to (according to analysis in my editor) capture all frequencies with no cut off in low or high, which is much better than the Sony voice recorders of a similar price range and they only record in mp3 format. You can't connect an external mic, but the built in mics are fine. The only negative I can add is that the right channel on mine is about 4dB less than the left channel, but that is easily fixed in an editor. Nice metal body with LCD display and level indicators. Sorry, not much of a review, but I would recommend it if you're not into serious professional recording.
This sound is unprocessed with exception of afore mentioned boost to right channel and fades added to beginning and end. The sound was captured from within the cupboard beneath the sink.
