This is another ornament from a 1776 book about exams in schools in Husum, a harbour city in modern northern Germany. It was in front of the first letter, but not part of it. It's quite a unique ornament - I've never seen this style before and I don't know what it's supposed to depict. Maybe a seashell at the top?...
